It’s one thing to throw a stellar Christmas party, but extending the festive spirit out of the office is our favourite part of the season. At 6S, we believe strongly in giving back to the community, and holiday fundraisers provide great, creative opportunities to get involved. We wanted to share a few of our favourite events with you!
Windows of Hope brings Pinterest-style craftiness to the Richmond Auto Mall annually. Each car dealership collects donations, which lead to volunteers painting their windows in holiday-style themes. 6S was happy to donate to this year’s efforts — funds generated are given to the Richmond Christmas Fund.
Our client Polygon Homes runs an annual “Twelve Days of Christmas” raffle with some truly spectacular prizes. A trip to Costa Rica? Executive Suite at a Canucks game? Best of all, the proceeds from raffle tickets go to the Union Gospel Mission, an urban relief organization based in the Downtown Eastside.
This year, 6S also participated in the Greater Vancouver Food Bank drive, collecting non-perishable items for donation. There’s a great need of healthier non-perishable items like natural peanut butter and whole wheat pasta — something to keep in mind if you’re making your own donation.
Of course, we made some room for some other Christmas fun, too. This year’s festivities included an amazing party at Bao Bei, an ugly sweater contest, and some gingerbread ‘selfies’ (we decorated some gingerbread men to our own likeness). See?
Know of any other great organizations or fundraisers to participate in during the holidays? Let us know in the comments! And best wishes for safe holidays and a spectacular new year. We’ll see you next in 2014.
