It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

It really is the most wonderful time of the year, and we’re all in. Each week in December, we had activities both in the office and out in the community celebrating our love of the winter season. We kicked off the holidays in November with our annual 6S Christmas bash. It was a classy, dress-to-impress affair at the fabulous Belgian-French restaurant Chambar. Next up was Operation Cupcake, our annual client appreciation event. Hundreds of mouth-watering, butter-creamy cupcakes were whisked all over the Lower Mainland – our way of saying thanks to our clients for another rockin’ year of business.

On December 1st, our Vancouver and Toronto offices became merry and bright. We donned our lights, boughs and bows, even a Nutcracker and a Santa Android. Everyone participated in decorating the tree by hanging an ornament each time they passed by the front door.

Mid-month, the YBIA presented the Lumière Festival, whose aim was to connect the West End and Yaletown with light during the darkest month of the year. Vancouver’s Lumière event is inspired in part by Lyon, France’s Fête des Lumières. 6Sers bundled up to serve marshmallowy hot chocolate to passersby because baby, it’s cold outside.

Wait, there’s more. There was the afternoon of gingerbread man decorating, the bake-off, and the annual pancake breakfast where we all dressed down in our PJs while our super cool managers cooked up a veritable feast of fluffy pancakes, juicy bacon and fresh juice.

Finally, the spirit of Christmas just wouldn’t be present without volunteering and donating to local organizations in need. Over two weeks, troops of us headed to a gospel mission on the Downtown East Side to make and serve dinner for the community.

As the year comes to a close, we reflect on all the blessings of this past year. From all of us at 6S, we hope you are surrounded by love and warmth this holiday season.
