Internet marketing is an extremely valuable and effective tool that every marketer should be integrating into their marketing strategy. Not only will it increase your website visitors, if done correctly, Internet marketing will increase quality leads to your website that are looking to purchase your products or services.
If you have already optimized your website using search engine optimization (SEO), congrats! You’ve already implemented one of the most useful Internet marketing tactics around. However, if you’re looking to shake things up below is a list of 5 additional (and easy) tactics you can quickly implement to improve your Internet marketing.
1. Start a blog
If you don’t have one already, adding a blog to your Internet marketing strategy is a very easy way to rank for keyphrases that will drive traffic to your site, but you don’t necessarily want your product pages ranking for. Think “how to” articles, resources and tips surrounding your products and services that can add value to your existing and future customer base.
2. Use Rss-to-Email
Once you have a blog, one of the easiest ways to distribute your content is via Rss-to-Email. This allows anyone with a blog to automatically have new blog posts sent out via an email newsletter to a subscriber base. MailChimp has an excellent Rss-to-Email feature that makes content distribution automatic and easy and will save you a heap of time! And, the more blog posts are shared, the more benefits to your Internet marketing efforts.
3. Add social buttons
Social buttons make it easy for website visitors to share your content. The more your content is shared, the more SEO benefit and other Internet marketing benefits you’ll experience. Put them at the top or sides of blog posts where they are visible, and can also be added to static pages of your website. The top social buttons to include are the Facebook Like button, Google+, the Tweet button as well as LinkedIn if you are B2B (business to business).
4. Internal site linking
When writing content ensure you include links to other areas of your site, including any resource articles your company has on your products, complimentary products and even blog posts. Internal linking helps search engines crawl and index the pages of your site more easily, and tells search engines which keywords to relate to the pages visited through these links. This is a large part of a solid Internet marketing strategy and is often overlooked.
5. Convert your website to WordPress
One of the most useful Internet marketing tools I’ve used has been WordPress. Traditionally a blog management system, WordPress is now used to develop great looking websites that are extremely SEO friendly. WordPress is extremely easy to use, especially for those with little or no knowledge of Internet marketing, and is extremely cost effective.
