I’m surprised it took Google so long, especially when it adds credibility to reviews. Yelp opened up responses for business owners last year and Yellow Pages have allowed it for quite a while.

One draw back — owners can only respond to reviews created through Google Maps and not those imported from third-party sites (from what I have read). It should cause businesses to consider other social/review sites worth having a profile on.

The situation I have is we ought to be able to DELETE trashy, negative reviews that are not meant to be constructive criticism.

IS there are way to delte such reviews whether they come from 3rd parties or are written at Google Maps? If we cannot delete these from Google Maps, then what is the purpose of using Google to promotoe our business?

Nice that one can now publicly respond. However, I agree with Michelle that we ought to gain the ability to respond to reviews imported from third-party sites.
