Google Pushes Geotagging to Blogger
Google posted this item to their blog today, and it’s interesting on a couple of levels.
In short, it outlines that they have now built-in post-specific geotagging for the Blogger.com platform. Blogger.com is one of the largest blogging communities on the web. The fact that this has been pushed live to such a significant group of users shows the commitment that Google has to geotagging, and the GeoRSS format in particular.
Geotagging is already very popular on such photo publishing platforms as Picasa, Panoramio, and Flickr, who’s data can often be seen in Google Maps.
With Geotagging plugins already available for WordPress and Moveable type, it may not be long before geotagging blog posts about specific locations becomes the standard procedure.
6S Marketing is currently integrating this feature into the North Shore Rescue blog and trying to find innovative uses of this new format.

Interesting post! I will have to check it out for WordPress. Thanks, and consider it stumbled.
