Canadian Social Media Survey Results

In February 2009 6S Marketing launched The Canadian Social Media Survey, and the results are in! Find out what Canadian Internet users are using Social Media for. The survey was conducted online and more than 10,000 people were invited to participate.

Out of the respondents who filled out the survey:

  • 69% use Facebook
  • 47% use Twitter
  • 38% use LinkedIn
  • 38% use YouTube
  • 29% use Flickr

And guess who gets control over Social Media Marketing efforts? 28% of companies rely on their marketing department to manage their SMM campaigns, while 18% leave it to the upper management.

Check out The Canadian Social Media Survey results page for more interesting stats, and stay tuned for an upcoming blog post announcing the winners of the mino HD Flip camcorders!

Can you provide some detail about the survey population and methods?

I find some of the findings to be quite unrepresentative of what I suspect the Canadian population looks like — half twittering, more than half blogging?
