VANCOUVER, BC, October 9, 2008 – 6S Marketing, along with other key technology-based Vancouver businesses have joined forces to present “Ideas on Tap” an innovative and unconventional networking event for hi-tech professionals, internet advertisers, social media marketers, bloggers, video game developers and other fans of the tech community.
The regular and free event will feature a light and casual approach to networking, with an ultimate goal of generating ideas, sharing knowledge and coming together to promote growth of the Vancouver technology sector. Did we mention it will be held at a brew pub and will involve drinking beer?
“The technology community is big and booming in Vancouver. There are so many fantastic ideas and such potential that exists.” says Chris Breikss, Co-Founder of 6S Marketing and pioneering force behind Ideas of Tap. “Our aim for this event is to bring tech lovers together to connect and share ideas over a beer. It doesn’t get any better than that.”
No typical “business card exchange” networking event, Ideas on Tap will include competitions in which contestants deliver a 60-second business pitch, idea, recruiting message, or elevator pitch from a milk crate. Pitches can be aimed at promoting a company, start-up ideas, new technology, hiring, or raising capital. Based on audience votes (tapping on beer glasses) winning pitches will be selected and awarded.
Ideas on Tap will be hosted every third Thursday at 5:00pm at the Yaletown Brewing Company, with the first event to take place October 16th. Information on Ideas on Tap can be found at www.ideasontap.ca.
