Sam MacMillan Tours Europe for Best Travel Job Ever

When Sam first told us that he was planning on entering the ‘Best Travel Job Ever Contest‘ we immediately knew that he had a very good chance at becoming a semi-finalist, and likely a strong candidate to win the whole darn thing. Sam works at 6S Marketing as an account manager specializing in providing marketing strategy and social media consulting to companies all over North America. He is also a talented videographer and likes to travel (don’t we all) and in April of 2010 we supported his entry into the contest.

The contest is sponsored by Flight Centre, Intrepid Travel, Air Canada, Henry’s, and Roots.

The contest premise was to create a 2-4 minute video of yourself describing why you would be an ideal candidate to win the Best Travel Job Ever. You then needed to upload your video to YouTube and list it on the BestTravelJobEver.com and following that, get your friends, coworkers, and family to vote for your video and get the message out!

A couple of weeks ago we found out that Sam had been selected as a semi finalist and that he would be going to Europe. He asked us very nicely if he could go and we did our best to support him with juggling his workload so that he could participate in an adventure of a lifetime!

On Saturday June 5th, 2010, Sam left for Europe and his ‘job’ is to travel and video blog his trip which includes stops in Berlin, Krakow, Prague, Cesky Krumlov, Vienna, Budapest, Bled and eventually Venice.

Starting on July 19th, you will be able to vote on Sam’s blog posts on the official contest website but in the meantime, you can check out his adventures here and directly on his blog “The Adventures of Sam MacMillan” or follow him on Twitter @sammacmillan.

It looks like he has made it to Germany safely and has posted a mini-clip from Frankfurt already.

We wish him the best of luck on the trip and can’t wait to watch the adventure unfold.
