At 6S, we help companies grow on the internet — and we plant the seeds for community growth, too. That’s why we signed up as one of the sponsors of the Yaletown Farmer’s Market. It’s especially exciting as this is the inaugral year of the market — it’s running every Thursday from August 26th-September 26th, 2 PM – 6 PM. From artisan breads and fresh Okanagan produce to locally-sourced honey and seafood, there’s a vendor to satisfy every tastebud.
What’s more, the Market is offering community artists the opportunity to showcase their works. 6S is proud to be sponsoring an installation by Jasminka Miletic-Prelovac from Livable Laneways Vancouver. Livable Laneways is dedicated to transforming the overlooked laneways and alleys of Vancouver into pedestrian-friendly civic spaces. Miletic-Prelovac’s work revamps the market seating area into an imaginative, festive space — modernity meeting Yaletown’s historic brick and beam. She hopes to demonstrate how an art installation in an unexpected public area can change our perception of it.

“By using everyday objects and geometrical forms, oriented toward the human figure, the pieces unfold dimensionally eliciting an awareness of space. They enhance perception and unveil endless possibilities of changing figures,” explains Miletic-Prelovac.
You’ll be able to spot some 6S staff members at the market, too. We greatly encourage you to stop by, say hello and browse the best in locally-made food, products and artwork. Here’s a map of the market for your reference.
One last event worth noting: the Yaletown BIA is running a Twitter-based contest for all attendees of the market. Check back to their blog each week for a chance to win great prizes from Yaletown businesses.
See you this Thursday, rain or shine! Don’t forget to RSVP on Facebook.
