While social media maturity has increased, so too, have the expectations of social media savvy consumers. We believe this is one of the most important areas in social media right now. This is why the Social Media Committee at 6S Marketing has put together an expert panel from a wide variety of industries, including consumer goods, telecoms, transportation, banking and tourism sports.
Our President and Co-Founder Chris Breikss (@ChrisBreikss) will be moderating the panel. As the Social Media Account Manager at 6S Marketing, I’m pleased to announce that I will be sitting on our panel on behalf of the team. Here’s a little bit about me:
I’ve been working in the content space for nearly 10 years; beginning my career in journalism and shifting my focus to marketing as a public relations specialist, social media strategist and blogger. I’ve moved to 6S Marketing from the Whistler Blackcomb marketing division, where I spent 5 years in social media and public relations. My social experience includes online community management, internal and external social media training, strategy development and implementation, content marketing, and crisis management. Katie Dreschel, Manager Communications, Digital and Social, TELUS
Katie is a communications professional with over eight years of experience working with some of Canada’s top brands including TELUS, Bell Mobility and Boston Pizza International. Most recently she has been at the leading edge of social media and mobile at TELUS. She leads a high performing team that executes social media strategy including; community development, customer experience, public relations and issues management. Robert Willis, Online Communications Advisor, Translink
Robert is a storyteller who uses multiple mediums to communicate. Trained as a journalist, he’s been working in social media for roughly four years. Rhonda Nowak, External Communications Manager, Vancity Credit Union
Rhonda comes from an extensive background in public relations, and has worked in this capacity at Edelman, Wilcox Group and the British Columbia Automobile Association. She was part of the committee that helped launch Vancity’s highly successful Facebook page and works closely with the social media team on external communications issues. Wayne Racine, Digital Marketing Manager, London Drugs Corporation
A collector of skills and an avid Star Wars fanboy, Wayne has also forged a successful career in digital. During his tenure at London Drugs Wayne has overseen development of everything from online ads and micro-sites to robust administrative systems and interactive applications that are viewed by hundreds of thousands of people daily. He also oversees a team that administers the social media program and in 2012, London Drugs received the West Coast Social Media Awards for Best Social Media Customer Service.
