We’re dead serious about deadlines. In fact, we’re fanatical about them. You don’t lead your field by being lax, and we’re truly proud of the 6S work ethic.
But we are also happy, hilarious human beings (at least, that’s what we tell each other). And we’re bred-in-the-bone Vancouverites: this means we take a good amount the time to enjoy life and appreciate this truly breathtaking city we call home. In the end, we think this makes for a more balanced, energetic, and loyal team. This translates, quite simply, to a better quality of work for our clients.
We also support the community – at every level. Whether it’s pulling an injured hiker out of a difficult spot on the North Shore (really, we do that – or at least, John Blown does), hosting Ideas On Tap (arguably the industry event of the year for Vancouver), or exploring the farthest frontiers of social media with Northern Voice, we make a huge effort to be a part of the community – both in our chosen field, and in Vancouver at large. We want people to know that we care. And, perhaps more importantly, that we’re here for the long haul.

Valuing Ethics
Is the term “business ethics” an oxy-moron? At 6S, we believe that ethics and business go hand in hand. Whether it’s day-to-day operations, treatment of employees, or the company’s community involvement, we believe that ethics is an integral part of a company’s culture.
Ethics in Search Marketing
There are two types of search marketing companies; “black hat” and “white hat”. Black hat SEO’s use tricks and tactics that are against the search engines’ terms of use documents. These tactics may get your site ranked quickly, but may also result in your site getting banned. White hat SEO companies employ tactics that follow the search engines’ terms of use and provide long term sustainable results. Black hat tactics may work very well in the short term, but in our experience, never work over the long term. 6S is without question a white hat SEO company.
Ethics in Business
If your decision was printed on the cover of USA Today, would you be ok with it? This is a test that can be used for any business decision and if the answer is “no”, we will not make that choice.
Do No Harm
6S’ operations will do no harm to people or the environment. As an Internet marketing company this is a fairly easy mantra to follow as all of our work and the majority of our reports are done electronically, generating little impact on the environment. In addition, the vast majority of our employees walk to work or use transit.
