VANCOUVER, BC, October 6, 2008 – As an official sponsor of the 2008 Taste of Yaletown, 6S Marketing has contributed to an unprecedented increase in popularity of the event. In addition to a significant sponsorship of the event, the 6S team also volunteered to take on the task of contributing to the online presence of Taste of Yaletown through Facebook marketing. In just one month, their work has seen the fan base for the event balloon to nearly 1000 members.
“For us, Taste of Yaletown was a chance to support an important initiative in our neighborhood. Taste of Yaletown, a community-based event in support of the Greater Vancouver Food Bank, sees over 22 restaurants in the stylish hub of Yaletown offer an attractively priced 3-course menu to the public from October 14-16, 2008. The event features contributions from some of Vancouver’s top chefs and is widely considered one of the most anticipated dining events in the city.
6S’s Facebook marketing campaign, as a part of sponsorship of Taste of Yaletown, included the creation of a comprehensive Facebook page that includes images, menus, contests, maps and the most up to date information needed for the public attendance. Through Facebook marketing strategy and targeted release of information, 6S was able to grow the fan base for Taste of Yaletown to levels nearing 1000 people. This interactive online presence and confirmed public following for Taste of Yaletown has not been seen in past years and significantly contributes to plans for marketing in future years.
